Don't Be Afraid To Ask

I got a message from another online marketer today. The message started with "I know you are too busy to help". Wait! Stop right there. I am never too busy to try and help you solve a problem. As a matter of fact, please ask for help when you need it. I may not be able to solve your problem, but I will be happy to try.

Asking other marketers for help is the perfect way to learn. Not only for you but for the person you are asking, as well. If you are confused about something, this is a good way for me to learn how to explain things to others. Perhaps together with can figure out a way to avoid confusion in the future.

As an online marketer, I strive in helping others. If you have questions, send them to catherinewhitemarketing@gmail.com. I will get back with you as soon as possible. Hopefully, together we can figure out a solution.

What Does It Take To Succeed As An Internet Marketer?

I have been working extra hard over the last 30 days which got me to thinking -"What Does It Take To Succeed As An Internet Marketer?" Of course, the definition of success is subjective to each person. Let's be realistic and talk dollars and cents.

Each of us have set a monetary goal for ourselves. (If you haven't done this, stop reading and go do it now.) One of the things I have learned is there is no quick way to achieve your long term monetary goals.

This is why it is important to break down your goals in to steps. Let's say you want to achieve a monthly income of $1000 each month. How can you achieve this goal. What programs are you using? What is your success rate? What is your retention rate?

These are all important aspects you need to consider when designing your daily routine. If you are using a program which pays you a $10 monthly commission on each active referral, then you will need 100 active referrals to achieve your goal. If you have a success rate of 1 in 10 sign ups per legitimate contact, then you will need to make 1000 contacts to reach your goal. If your retention rate is 50%, then you will need to replace 50% of your referrals each month.

Now break this down in to weekly and daily goals. If you can get 50 contacts a week or 10 per 5 day work week, then it will take you 20 weeks to meet your goal of 1000 contacts. But, if your retention level is 50%, then you will need to add 10 weeks to you goal plan. This will give you a legitimate capability of reaching your goal in 30 weeks. If you take the time to look at a plan pragmatically, then you will understand why most people quit before they meet their goal.

So, What Does It Take To Succeed As An Internet Marketer? It takes a goal, a plan of action, and the determination & patience to see it through. If you became an Internet Marketer to Get Rich Quick, then I suggest you look for another business.

Payday At Peoplestring

Payday is always a Happy Day. I received my 7th payment from the social network Peoplestring today. What a great program this has turned out to be. Often when you join a program you never really know what to expect. I can tell you from experience, Peoplestring delivers.

I started out as a FREE member of Peoplestring. At the time they were offering a chance to upgrade and become an Entrepreneur. I had been looking for a way to supplement my income. So, I went to a couple of the informational webinars and I decided to upgrade a month later. This is a decision I do not regret. Sometimes an opportunity sounds better than it really is but this experience just keeps getting better.

Peoplestring has paid like clockwork. The minimum amount to receive a payment on Peoplestring is $25.00. Each time I have reached this amount or higher, I have been paid. FREE members can receive a payment every 30 days. And, Entrepreneur members can receive a payment every 2 weeks. What a pleasure it has been to look forward to receiving an extra paycheck.

As I mentioned above, it keeps getting better. Although the Entrepreneur program at Peoplestring has ended, they now are offering something which may turn out to be even more valuable. Soon the company will be launching Reward String to the general public. For now, it is in pre-launch and you need to be a member of Peoplestring to get on board. I highly recommend you join Peoplestring as a FREE member. Then immediately ask your sponsor about Reward String. The pre-launch won't last long so you need to act now. If you need a place to join, I would be happy to have you on my team. Join Here.

F5M Club

Last week I was introduced to a company that has been around for 16 years. While surfing the traffic exchanges, I had seen the company splash pages but really hadn't paid any attention to them. I was introduced to the company by a fellow Peoplestringer, Warren Contreras. I have communicated with Warren in the forums at Peoplestring and have always found him to be analytical in his thinking. Warren sent me a brief direct message asking me if I would be interested in a $5 opportunity which could eventually build in to a nice income. Since this message was coming from Warren, it did peak my interest.

The company F5M Club has been around for 16 years. They are ranked in the Alexa rankings as one of the top 48,000 sites in the world and top 25,000 in the USA. (If you don't know what Alexa rankings are read this Article.) Other than mentioning it would only cost $5, there was no other information given out by Warren at this time. I replied to Warren and told him sure I would take a look. In his second communication, after I asked for information, was when he included a link directly to the sign up page of the $5 level. (Bronze) Well, as we all know, you can drop $5 pretty easily these days so I thought what the heck. I have taken the plunge to see where it will lead.

After viewing some of the information, I realized that Warren's marketing strategy is brilliant for this opportunity. By making personal contact with a few highly targeted people, his conversion rate is 7 out of 10. That is 70% which is unheard of in the networking business. I am following his lead and sending out personal messages to colleagues in different areas. I have received a 50% conversion rate. Not as good as Warrens but still a great rate in networking.

By using his good reputation at Peoplestring, Warren has converted some highly qualified people. This should be a lesson to everyone in marketing. First, it takes time to develop relationships and gain respect. Second, don't just blast your links at everyone, send out teasers and leave them wanting more information. Great lesson from a good on-line marketer. I am going to include the link to the video Warren made describing his thought process during this marketing campaign. Enjoy. Warren's Video

Self Induced Insomnia

I am sitting here at midnight wondering why I am not in bed. I know my body and I need a good amount of sleep to function well the next day. I believe there are a couple of reasons leading to my recent insomnia.

First, there are a lot of marketing campaigns I need to plan and put in to action. As I mentioned in my recent article, there is always some one out there working harder than you. Since attending the webinar mentioned in the article, I have been trying to, at least, double my efforts daily. This is reason enough for my recent bout of insomnia but there is more.

The second reason I am resisting going to bed each night is the implementation of a 30 minute timer on the Pick Which Hand Game at Peoplestring. Yes, I know this may seem silly to you but every time I get ready to turn off the computer it is just a few more minutes until I can play again. How can I pass up these FREE people points. You see at Peoplestring people points turn in to cash at the end of the month. What a hook they have created by putting a 30 minute timer on this particular game. I know for a fact it is affecting other Peoplestringers sleep too. (Right Karla?)

So, here I am trying to kill two birds with one stone. I am writing a fresh post for my blog and waiting for the 4 minutes to expire so I can play the game. Whoop, Whoop - I won - 30 more people points!

I am going to bed now. And, I mean it this time.

Time Management

I just returned from a very refreshing vacation. My last post was about using auto responders. I am proud to announce my list of prospects grew while I was on vacation due to the use of auto responders in my marketing. This is a valuable tool and great time saver when it comes to returning emails for informational purposes. If you aren't using an auto responder, I highly recommend Traffic Wave as the best auto responder on the market. If you want more information, check out my last blog post.

I had a lot of time to reflect about my time management while I was on vacation. I consider myself a Mompreneur, which is a term I stole from my facebook friend Meghan Arnold. I am a Mom and an Entrepreneur. As a Mom, I decided to not spend anytime on-line while my kids are awake and wanting my attention. If you are a parent, you know this limits most of my day. So, how do I squeeze in the extra time to do all things I want to do on-line? This is what I decided I need to figure out while I was on vacation.

First, I am going to have to figure out how much time I can squeeze out of each day. If I stay up a couple hours after the kids go to bed, then I can get, at least 14 hours a week on-line. Then, I am going to have to prioritize what I want to get accomplished on-line. For me, this is going to require making out a schedule of daily events. I work much better with a schedule. It may seem silly, but if you don't make a schedule then you may find yourself lost on a project and neglecting a priority you had set for yourself. So, I feel a schedule is quite important if your time is limited. My priority for this week is making a 14 hour schedule. I am going to prioritize my techniques and set my days up by this new schedule.

I think as a Mompreneur a schedule could be the most important marketing tool I can use to get things accomplished. If any of you parents out there have some recommendations, I would be glad to hear from you. Just contact me at catherinedwhite@peoplestring.com

Goals and Marketing

Today is Mother's Day. What a great day to sit and reflect on accomplishments and goals. I feel like I have accomplished quite a bit over the last 5 months. I set my personal goals and I am right on track for the year. One third of the way, through the year, this is a good feeling.

I have learned some valuable information about marketing on-line. I think the most valuable information I have learned is -Help Others Succeed and Success Will Follow- Very Simple, yet so hard to comprehend for so many people. Really it is quite easy to offer help and support. I am excited about the concept of helping others on my team succeed. It is such a great feeling to get a personal referral. I am looking forward to my team members feeling this success.

As I sit here reflecting, I have decided to set some NEW Personal Goals. Only this time My Personal Goals will have to do with my team. Helping my team become successful is the most inspirational idea I have had yet. I can't wait to get started so this post is short and sweet.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOMPRENEURS!

Marketing On-line For FREE

I have been marketing on-line heavy for approximately 5 months. This, by no means, makes me an expert in the field. But, I am a quick study and I am always looking out for tools to help increase my marketing success. As I promised in my last blog post, I want to share the most effective FREE Marketing tools I have found so far. Instead of taking up a whole blog post explaining the tools, I have made an entire website dedicated to this topic. As time goes by, when I find more tools or better tools, I will keep this website updated. So here is the site: FREEMARKETINGTOOLS4U I hope these tools are helpful and increase your success.

I have, also, created a website listing my favorite traffic exchanges. I feel that traffic exchanges can be a good marketing tool in their own way. This is a random way of creating traffic for your personal website. And, of course, traffic will lead to sales. I have listed some of my favorite sites. And again, as I branch out I may find other sites to add to this list. Here is the site: MARKETINGTOOLTRAFFICEXCHANGES

There are enough tools and information on these two websites to keep you busy setting up marketing campaigns for your business. I would be glad to answer any questions and give you assistance if you get stumped on your project. Just contact me at: catherinedwhite@peoplestring.com Best of luck. If you would like to connect with me further, I mainly use Peoplestring as my social network. Connect with me there: CatherineDWhite If you are not a member yet, Join Here and we will automatically connect as friends.

Marketing On-line

I have been learning how to market on-line for about 5 months now. It has definitely been a learning process. Anyone who says you can make $10,000 a month by work 30 minutes a day is either lying or a veteran marketer. I find myself spending, at least, 30 minutes a day just answering messages and emails.

I am learning how to automate some things but I am not a very techie person. So, this in itself is quite time consuming. Teaching yourself how to market and save time actually takes up quite a bit of time. For me, educating myself is the most time consuming task I am doing.

There are thousands of programs out there that claim they are the best at their speciality. Whether it be auto-responders, list builders, splash page makers, banner makers, or traffic exchanges, they all claim to be the best. You could spend days sifting through each of these specific areas trying to find what you think gives you the best quality at the best price. And yes, there are some free programs.

So, how can you save time picking which program is going to work for you? Whatever your business opportunity might be, you need to find a person who is successful in that program and find out what that person is doing to succeed. If you can pick the brain of someone who is succeeding, you are one step ahead of the game. Plus, this will save you loads of time investigating the different programs. I guarantee this person is using good programs.

Let's say you now have your programs picked out. Now you have to learn how to use each program effectively for your personal marketing campaign. This can usually be learned by watching tutorial videos or reading the information. Again, this will take time.

For me, I am learning something new everyday about marketing. While I am learning how to use these programs, I am still finding time to do some on-line marketing. Otherwise I feel I would be at a stand still. So, my business is still growing as I am learning how to effectively market. I guess it is kind of hit and miss for me but I am getting some results.

I feel I am a typical average person who wants to improve my life with extra income from on-line marketing. I have another income but I would like to replace that income with a nice residual income from my on-line business. It's a great dream. I get frustrated because I feel it is taking so long to learn everything. I don't believe in doing something half way or I would just stick with my hit and miss marketing. I want to learn how to do it right. I believe I have found the right tools and I am heading in the right direction. Now, I just have to find the time to learn how to use these great tools.

So, let me close with an old saying "You can't rush success." I don't know who said it or when but it is true for me. Or, what about this one "Patience is a virtue". Wise words that I am trying to live by in my day to day life of learning how to become an effective on-line marketer.

Losing Your Networking Credibility

This seems to be a trap most of us fall in to when we start our networking careers. You decide you believe in the concept of networking and now it is time to pick a company. Most of us probably join the first company which presented the concept of networking to us but then we failed miserably with that company. (That is to be expected since 97% of people in networking fail to build any type of income.) So, what now? You love the concept of network marketing and believe in your soul that it will work. This is where a lot of people mess up big time. When you start joining each and every company that comes along, you will totally lose your credibility with all people who know you. If you are promoting Company X this week and then Company Y next week, people will start running the other direction when they see you coming. It's called the NFL or No Friends Left league.

Not only will you lose your credibility with the people you know but what about the people who did believe you and joined your downline. What are they supposed to think now? They believed in you enough to join your team and now you are switching teams or are you just joining more than one team? See how confusing it can be. I actually had this happen to me recently. My leader in a Company P started promoting another company. I had seen the new company being promoted around different sites but I have to say I was surprised when I received a personal message from my leader promoting the new site. This made me think he wasn't as committed to Company P as I had thought he was originally. So, he lost a little credibility with me.

Now, I do want to say here, it is possible to be promoting more than one company if there is a funnel affect which leads back to your original company. With today's networking and traffic exchange site, it is quite possible to build an income from more than one place.

So where does this leave us? To keep your credibility, you should only promote one networking company. No this doesn't mean you can join one company promote it then join another company and promote it. YOU need to investigate the company and the product and only join if this is the company for you. Then promote, promote, promote and you will succeed. Your friends and your downline will thank you and appreciate what you have to say even more.

Marketing Mistakes on Social Media

There are several marketing mistakes I have noticed on the social media sites. And the cause of these mistakes is impatience. Most people don’t want to take the time to be social on the social media sites. Some one has told them: “Hey, social media is a great way to market your business.” So, they jump right on and start posting their links. BIG MISTAKE. I have to admit, I made the same mistake. I guess I was so bad I had friends who wouldn’t even return my direct messages. That’s bad. But, it didn’t take me long to learn this was pointless.

Mistake number 1: In your very first contact with a person you talk about your business or give them your link. Think about it. Is this how you would like to be approached? Wouldn’t you want to know the person a little bit first. When someone tells me they can show me how to make $10,000 in 30 days, this is my response: Really, and how long have you been with this company? Most of the time they answered, well I just started but….. Conversation Over on my part.

Mistake number 2: Friending Everybody. Now I know you have to start somewhere so take this in the context that you have developed a few hundred friends all ready. At that point, you need to start building relationships. Start learning who people are, what are their interests, and what companies do they represent? If you show genuine interest in a person, more than likely they will show interest in what you do. I think it is important, at this point to start weeding out your contact list. Why keep a contact when you absolutely know you will not do business with this person? You, also, need to categorize each person. Are they a networker? Do they represent a certain company? Did you like each other?

I am still learning the everyday little nuances of using social media. I hope I can keep learning what works and help others to succeed in networking.
