Stick With Your Primary Business

It wasn't long ago I wrote a blog post about being loyal to one company. I am pretty sure I ranted a little bit about joining too many opportunities. I still believe this to be true. You need to find a PRIMARY BUSINESS and stick with it.

But since that post, I have learned a lot about Internet marketing. I learn more and more each day. I now believe it is very possible to be affiliated with more than one business. I am not talking about the usual affiliate marketing. If you are marketing on-line, you are more than likely doing some affiliate marketing yourself. It seems affiliate marketing is just the natural progression of becoming an Internet marketer. It is only natural that you will promote programs you use personally, especially if the company will pay you to do it.

What I am talking about is promoting more than one program. There is so much open space out here in Internet Land. There are tons and tons of people looking for an opportunity which will fit them. What appeals to one may not appeal to another. That is just normal. So, how do you decide what to promote and when? I am still a avid believer in having a Primary Business. No matter what else you may decide to do to earn some extra money, you need to have a Primary Business. Everything else you do should lead your prospects to your Primary Business in one way or another.

I am not saying go out and join every single program you see advertised. That will take your credibility level down low. But, if you find something besides your Primary Business which you think is a good fit for you, then make the decision which is best for you. This doesn't mean abandon your other business. As a matter of fact, if you work it correctly, this should help build your Primary Business. By building relationships in more than one area, you should be able to build your businesses, as well.

So, over the last few months, I have learned to keep an open mind. Look a little deeper. Investigate before taking action. And, try to work with the best in your field. All of these things may lead you on a path you didn't expect, like starting a new business endeavor. In the long run, stay focused on your primary goals and your primary business.

Payday At Peoplestring

Payday is always a Happy Day. I received my 7th payment from the social network Peoplestring today. What a great program this has turned out to be. Often when you join a program you never really know what to expect. I can tell you from experience, Peoplestring delivers.

I started out as a FREE member of Peoplestring. At the time they were offering a chance to upgrade and become an Entrepreneur. I had been looking for a way to supplement my income. So, I went to a couple of the informational webinars and I decided to upgrade a month later. This is a decision I do not regret. Sometimes an opportunity sounds better than it really is but this experience just keeps getting better.

Peoplestring has paid like clockwork. The minimum amount to receive a payment on Peoplestring is $25.00. Each time I have reached this amount or higher, I have been paid. FREE members can receive a payment every 30 days. And, Entrepreneur members can receive a payment every 2 weeks. What a pleasure it has been to look forward to receiving an extra paycheck.

As I mentioned above, it keeps getting better. Although the Entrepreneur program at Peoplestring has ended, they now are offering something which may turn out to be even more valuable. Soon the company will be launching Reward String to the general public. For now, it is in pre-launch and you need to be a member of Peoplestring to get on board. I highly recommend you join Peoplestring as a FREE member. Then immediately ask your sponsor about Reward String. The pre-launch won't last long so you need to act now. If you need a place to join, I would be happy to have you on my team. Join Here.

Business Withdrawals On Vacation

It has been 10 years since my last vacation. I mean a real vacation where you are only involved in leisurely activities. I plan on sitting on the beach or poolside sipping a nice frosty drink of something refreshing. Hey, but wait a minute, I am just getting this Internet marketing stuff rolling. How can I take a vacation now? This is a crucial time in the building stages of my on-line career. How will I be able to sit and relax without access to a computer? Needless to say, the panic has started to set in. I will not have access to a computer for 5 whole days. This is going to seem like an eternity for me. I usually spend, at least, 3 hours a day working on-line. I am positive I will be experiencing withdrawal symptoms sometime around day 2.

Hey, but wait a minute......didn't I sign up for an auto responder program? I know every one kept telling me I needed an auto responder to increase my success with any on-line business. Wow, for once, I am sure glad I took that advice. Now all I have to do is set up my marketing campaigns to run while I am gone. Wham Bam - NO Worries - while I am on vacation. I can still grow my business and respond to all prospects. What a relief. This auto responder is going to take a lot of work off my plate. I wish I had started using it diligently sooner.

What is the moral of this story.....Yes, you do need an auto responder. This will help you manage your time, respond to your prospects, develop your marketing strategy, and increase your referral rate. As Woody Says in TS2 "If you don't have one, GET ONE."

Before signing up for an auto responder, I did some research about different programs. The two most popular programs are AWeber and Traffic Wave. I chose Traffic Wave for these reasons: 1. As you grow your list, the price stays the same. The price does not increase as your prospect list gets larger. And 2. You can become an affiliate for Traffic Wave and get paid through 10 levels. This is the largest pay program for auto responders I found.

I highly recommend using an auto responder for your on-line marketing strategy. I, also, recommend that you don't wait until you are going on vacation to get it set up and running at full speed. Learn from my mistake. If you have any questions, email me at catherinedwhite@peoplestring.com.

Marketing On-line For FREE

I have been marketing on-line heavy for approximately 5 months. This, by no means, makes me an expert in the field. But, I am a quick study and I am always looking out for tools to help increase my marketing success. As I promised in my last blog post, I want to share the most effective FREE Marketing tools I have found so far. Instead of taking up a whole blog post explaining the tools, I have made an entire website dedicated to this topic. As time goes by, when I find more tools or better tools, I will keep this website updated. So here is the site: FREEMARKETINGTOOLS4U I hope these tools are helpful and increase your success.

I have, also, created a website listing my favorite traffic exchanges. I feel that traffic exchanges can be a good marketing tool in their own way. This is a random way of creating traffic for your personal website. And, of course, traffic will lead to sales. I have listed some of my favorite sites. And again, as I branch out I may find other sites to add to this list. Here is the site: MARKETINGTOOLTRAFFICEXCHANGES

There are enough tools and information on these two websites to keep you busy setting up marketing campaigns for your business. I would be glad to answer any questions and give you assistance if you get stumped on your project. Just contact me at: catherinedwhite@peoplestring.com Best of luck. If you would like to connect with me further, I mainly use Peoplestring as my social network. Connect with me there: CatherineDWhite If you are not a member yet, Join Here and we will automatically connect as friends.

OVERWHELMED

Has it happened to you? You finally find the opportunity you were looking for and suddenly you become OVERWHELMED. There are many things that can Overwhelm a person. The main thing is finding the time to promote your new opportunity. If you are like me, your spare time is limited. I find myself staying up later so I can work online to promote my new opportunity. This, of course, makes me even more Overwhelmed as I am tired the next day.

Last week I decided I can't do it all. I have grown my personal referrals to a respectable level. So now, I want to help those referrals grow their personal business. I have been concentrating on helping each referral "Brand Themselves" and start their own promotions online. This has included building "Landing Pages" and "Banners", with a quick lesson in promoting on "Traffic Exchange Sites". Plus, a short tutorial on how to build your Facebook and Twitter friends list. Because with today's online presence, social media is still the best FREE advertising a person can receive.

So, this week, I am feeling much better about myself. It's only Monday but I all ready feel, as if, I have accomplished more today than I did all of last week. It has been said over-and-over if you help others succeed, your success will follow. Well, I am here to tell you, besides that well known fact, it really feels good. So, Stop what you are doing and HELP YOUR TEAM. Maybe the good feelings you get will make you feel not so Overwhelmed. It worked for Me!

Losing Your Networking Credibility

This seems to be a trap most of us fall in to when we start our networking careers. You decide you believe in the concept of networking and now it is time to pick a company. Most of us probably join the first company which presented the concept of networking to us but then we failed miserably with that company. (That is to be expected since 97% of people in networking fail to build any type of income.) So, what now? You love the concept of network marketing and believe in your soul that it will work. This is where a lot of people mess up big time. When you start joining each and every company that comes along, you will totally lose your credibility with all people who know you. If you are promoting Company X this week and then Company Y next week, people will start running the other direction when they see you coming. It's called the NFL or No Friends Left league.

Not only will you lose your credibility with the people you know but what about the people who did believe you and joined your downline. What are they supposed to think now? They believed in you enough to join your team and now you are switching teams or are you just joining more than one team? See how confusing it can be. I actually had this happen to me recently. My leader in a Company P started promoting another company. I had seen the new company being promoted around different sites but I have to say I was surprised when I received a personal message from my leader promoting the new site. This made me think he wasn't as committed to Company P as I had thought he was originally. So, he lost a little credibility with me.

Now, I do want to say here, it is possible to be promoting more than one company if there is a funnel affect which leads back to your original company. With today's networking and traffic exchange site, it is quite possible to build an income from more than one place.

So where does this leave us? To keep your credibility, you should only promote one networking company. No this doesn't mean you can join one company promote it then join another company and promote it. YOU need to investigate the company and the product and only join if this is the company for you. Then promote, promote, promote and you will succeed. Your friends and your downline will thank you and appreciate what you have to say even more.
